- Clearly bird-safe materials if something will be near the bird’s space
- Simple seasonal changes that do not disrupt routine
- Projects that entertain the human without creating clutter for the bird
What to avoid
- Toxic paints, glues, glitter, treated woods, or loose fibres
- Homemade toys you cannot judge for durability
- Decorations that create snagging or ingestion risks
- Seasonal novelty that stresses the bird more than anyone enjoys it
Important: “bird-themed” is not the same as “bird-safe.” Treat those as separate questions every time.
