Planning Travel Around a Bird More Realistically

“Bird-friendly travel” often really means choosing the least stressful option, which may be postponing the trip or arranging good care at home instead of bringing the bird along.

Better planning questions

  • Will the bird cope with transport and new surroundings?
  • Is a trusted sitter or boarding setup actually the better option?
  • How long is the trip, and what does the bird lose during it?
  • Are you planning around the bird’s needs or just hoping they will adapt?
Important: the most “bird-friendly” plan is often the one with the least disruption.
