Sharing Bird Photos and Videos Without Turning the Bird Into Content

Plenty of owners like documenting life with their birds. The problem starts when the camera begins dictating the bird’s routine instead of fitting around it.

Better habits

  • Film short moments the bird was already comfortable doing
  • Stop if the camera changes the bird’s behaviour for the worse
  • Avoid props, setups, or repetition that create stress
  • Protect location and household details when posting publicly

Good rule of thumb

If the bird has to tolerate the content plan rather than enjoy normal life around it, the plan is probably bad.

Important: the easiest ethical test is simple: would you still do this if nobody else ever saw the clip?
