Planning Travel or a House Move With a Bird

Bird travel and relocation do not need “transportation systems.” They need safe carriers, calmer pacing, and a realistic plan for stress and routine changes.

Before the trip

  • Make sure the carrier is familiar and secure
  • Plan food, water, temperature, and stops in advance
  • Keep paperwork and vet contacts easy to reach if relevant
  • Reduce surprises where possible

After arrival

Important: set up the bird’s main resting area quickly and keep the first day as calm and predictable as possible.

The faster the bird regains a recognizable routine, the better most moves go.
