What to think about first
- Material safety and whether coatings, fibres, or metals are appropriate
- Whether the toy size fits the bird’s beak, feet, and strength
- How the toy is attached and whether it can trap toes or beaks
- Whether the bird actually likes shredding, climbing, chewing, or foraging that style of toy
Important: complicated toys are not automatically better. If you cannot inspect and understand every part of the toy easily, it may be too risky.
