Checking a Bird Room Before You Add More Gear

When a bird room feels off, owners often jump straight to buying more equipment. A better first step is to look at the room honestly and see what the bird is already telling you.

Start with the room itself

  • Where are the drafts, vents, and temperature swings?
  • What happens at dawn, evening, and cleaning time?
  • Is the cage in a high-traffic or stressful spot?
  • Are noise and lighting steady enough for rest?

Only add tools for a clear reason

  1. Measure first if you think temperature or humidity is a problem
  2. Use timers when the sleep routine is inconsistent
  3. Use purifiers carefully if air quality is the real issue
  4. Keep changes simple enough to monitor
If you cannot tell whether a device is helping, it may just be adding complexity.
