Reading Bird Behavior More Carefully

Better behavior reading usually comes from slowing down and looking at context. What happened before the behavior often matters more than the behavior alone.

Questions to ask

  • Was the bird startled, rushed, or cornered?
  • Did the routine change today?
  • Was there noise, new people, or a different room setup?
  • Is the bird tired, hormonal, bored, or physically uncomfortable?

How to spot patterns better

  1. Write down when the behavior happens
  2. Note what changed just before it
  3. Look for repeated triggers over several days
  4. Rule out health if the shift is sudden or severe
